I doubt many of the younger generation will appreiciate this!

I know this ages me, but I can remember opening and installing the first TV my family owned.  I was only 3, the screen had nice curved corners and the TV had legs that held it off the floor about 8".  Did I mention that it used tubes....yes, those are now extinct!  AND there were not even 10 channels at the time, no local news or local programming.  There were only 3 channels....ABC, NBC, and CBS.  The test pattern wold come on about 4:30pm that I remember and the news would be on from 5-6pm.  Evening programming would follow for about 2 hours and then NOTHING!  HOW far we have come in 54 years!!!!  IF the cartoon below is small, click on it to enlarge!
